Research & Planning

Gaining insight & empathy

The project focus area for this was to have a deep understanding of the user at all levels to understand the pain points, combine all aspects of the design understanding which consisted of it being Desirable to Users/Customers, Viable as a Business, Technically Feasible & Ethical.

Converstation Tress

Creating a conversation tree with all the questions that could help with the interview process of people with different mindsets.

Empathise

With the derived user data we created an empathy map, which helped us differentiate between what the user - Says, Does, Feels & Wants.

Problem Statement

Young professionals prefer convenience over time, knowledge, and expense to make environmentally beneficial decisions, making it difficult for communities to practise composting. How can we encourage the community to follow healthy composting habits and have a more positive composting experience?

How might we help them keep track of their success?
How might we encourage people to connect and form a community?
How might we make it profitable/of value for business to be a part of this?
